-How should I take care of my new piercings?

Here are some aftercare instructions. Contact us if you have questions!

HEALING
Week 1 - Fresh. Swelling, redness and bleeding are normal.

Week 2-4 - Healing. Yellow 'crusties' form, don't pick 'em and no touchy!

Week 5 - Matured. The redness should be nearly gone.

Week 8-12 - Downsize time! Come say hi, we may need to change your jewellery!

ORAL PIERCINGS
- Use an alcohol-free mouth rinse after eating, drinking, smoking or vaping.
- Cold drinks are great during healing.
- Swelling is normal for two weeks.
- Eat soft foods while healing.
Follow the above advice for the first two weeks.
- Maintain good oral hygiene. Brushing twice a day
- Do NOT play with jewellery.
- Downsize jewellery in 4-6 weeks. (2 weeks for tongue piercings)
- Stay hydrated! Drink lots of water.

EAR & FACIAL PIERCINGS
- Clean twice daily with sterile saline for two weeks; this can be mixed at home by adding ¼ teaspoons of sea salt to a full mug of freshly boiled water.
Alternatively, spray twice daily for two weeks with a sterile saline solution. NeilMed® can be purchased in-store. [Contact lens solution is NOT sterile!]
- Do not turn/twist jewellery, and DON'T pick at your damn crusties.
- Avoid chlorinated pools or spas.
- Be sure NOT to sleep on piercing! If possible, you can use a travel pillow. Sleep with your fresh piercing inside the hole of the pillow to alleviate any pressure from your usual pillow.

TORSO
- Follow FACIAL aftercare.
- No bodily fluids on healing piercings.
- Piercing can take up to 6 months to settle.
-Remove any bandage(s) once returning home from piercing.
- Do not cover/bandage.

GENITAL
- Clean daily with PH-balanced & Microbiome protective soap/shower gel (e.g. Femfresh™ or Sanex BiomeProtect©)
- Bleeding is normal for a week.
- No unprotected sex during healing! ; )
- Sex/self-love can resume when comfortable (4-6w)
- Shower before and after sex during healing
- Jewellery downsize periods differ for genital piercings. Your piercer will advise when to return.
- Piercing can take up to 6 months to settle

DERMAL ANCHORS
- Follow FACIAL aftercare
- you can use an icepack to bring down swelling and redness for the initial 2-3days
- Anchors heal in around three weeks
- Do NOT cover or bandage. Remove the bandage from the studio once you return home from piercing
- Be careful not to catch it!
- Come in to let us change the jewellery attachments (gems)

TROUBLES (don'ts)
- Sleeping on, bumping, and touching the piercing will slow healing and cause lumpy bumps.
- Hot chamomile tea bag compress soaks, reduces bumps and increases blood flow.
- install low-carat/quality gold or unpure sterling silver/nickel jewellery.
- Playing with your piercings can tear the tissue and cause white, bumpy scar tissue. Playing can also increase the risk of piercing migration/rejection.
- Using alcohol wipes, Dettol, Betadine, alcoholic Listerine, surgical spirit,tcp or any harsh products will harm your piercing.

SUCCESS (do’s)
-Continue to maintain good personal hygiene throughout the healing process. Use your regular products unless instructed otherwise by your piercer (i.e. Ph balanced soap/shower gel)
-Maintain oral hygiene when healing oral piercings. Mouthwash is NOT enough to keep your mouth clean!
- Ensure your bedding is fresh and clean to protect against bacteria from dirty sheets.
- Last of all:- DON’T F*CKING TOUCH IT!

-Do you do walk-ins?

Piercings are done on an appointment basis but we do accept walk-ins.

Please understand that if we have appointments booked - these will take importance over walk-ins.

Please ensure to book a consultation for curation - if you'd like to be pierced with some of our luxury jewellery.

Our busier periods fall on Fridays & Saturdays.

We can pierce with the following brands: Junipurr, Anatometal, Maya, Diablo Organics, Industrial Strength, Tish Lyon, Peoples Jewelry, BJO, GorillaGlass Auris, Kiwi and our standard Titanium jewellery.

Titanium jewellery can be anodised to many colours (chart shown within our studio) this can be done free of charge - please notify the piercer prior to the piercing.

Piercings can be paid for via cash or card transaction.

-How old do I have to be?

We pierce 16 and above WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC I.D - 14 with parental/guardianship consent (ensure parent/guardian has photographic I.D & guardian has proof of guardianship) - this is to avoid disappointment.

Genital piercings are strictly 18+

Tattoos are strictly 18+

-Booking a tattoo

To secure your tattoo appointment, you must pay a cash deposit. This deposit is non-refundable and can only be made in-store. We charge £80 per hour for tattoos. The length of your booking determines the minimum deposit amount.

For instance, a 1-hour booking requires a £20 deposit, leaving £60 to be paid overall. Similarly, a 2-hour booking requires a £40 deposit, leaving £120 to be spent overall, and so on. You can pay a larger deposit to reduce the final payment once you have received your tattoo.

We also offer full-day sessions (6 hours) at a discounted price of £400.

-How Do I Take care of my new tattoo?

Aftercare advice (Clingfilm & Product care)

Only remove clingfilm when you arrive home.

Easy steps:
Wash
Dry
Apply cream/balm
Don’t pick
No Sunlight/Sunbeds
No swimming

Wash your tattoo thoroughly (but carefully) using warm water and fragrance/alcohol-free soap (preferably PH-balanced); this will remove any excess dried blood and plasma.

After washing, allow the tattooed area to air dry if you can. If you don’t have time, pat dry with a paper towel. Do not rub the area.

Ensure the area is completely dry before applying a very thin layer of your chosen aftercare product (Bepanthen Tattoo, Hustle Butter Deluxe, Yer Maws, etc.). We promote the use of these specific aftercare products because they are gentle on the healing skin and promote proper healing. Avoid using any harsh or scented products. Avoid topical creams, perfume/aftershave, deodorant and non-ph-balanced shower products until the area is fully healed.

Apply your aftercare product two to three times a day, ensuring you clean and dry the area before re-applying. Applying creams without prior cleaning will create a product build-up and cause further irritation.
-Repeat this process until the tattoo has finished scabbing/peeling.

Avoid picking at the flaking/scabbing skin. Picking away at your healing tattoo can delay healing, cause fading and increase the chances of infection.
The scabbing/peeling process can vary depending on the size and location of the tattoo but typically lasts around 2-3 weeks. A tattoo can take several months to fully heal, with the initial healing period lasting approximately 2-3 weeks. It is important to continue proper aftercare to ensure optimal healing.

Don’t expose your new tattoo to sunlight or sunbeds; wait to apply suntan lotion until the skin has fully healed. So slap on some extra clothing layers and protect that skin!

Avoid topical creams, perfume/aftershave, deodorant and non-ph-balanced shower products until the area is fully healed.

Stay away from swimming pools, steam rooms and hot tubs! All bodies of water contain nasty bacteria that can ruin a new tattoo - be careful and avoid them until you’re all healed.

If you’ve had facial/lip/genital/hand/finger tattoos - refrain from sexual contact until the area is fully healed.

Continue to look after your tattoo once healed.
Keep your tattoo protected from the sun and moisturise the area regularly.

Healthy skin = healthy you = healthy tattoo.

-I want to get laser tattoo removal!

Great, we are happy to help you in this tattoo removal journey. This is an extract from our 'laser bible'. Our guidance is typically 8-12 weeks between sessions (minimum of 8 - but the gap duration is your choice.

No two tattoos are the same in terms of the number of sessions needed. They differ in depth, distribution, colours, scar tissue, and other factors such as the owner's state of health, diet, exercise, smoking habits, and more. Each of these factors can significantly impact the tattoo removal process, resulting in widely varying results. Therefore, it is challenging to advise patients on the number of treatments they may need or the duration of their overall treatment.

1 close-up and 1 far enough away to get a feel for the general size (ensure these photos are taken with natural light and not flash—we need to see how dark the actual tattoo is).

- Do you sell Numbing Cream?

This is a common question we get asked.

We don't offer numbing cream.

This is due to numbing cream only working topically - this means it doesn't offer numbing through the area getting pierced - just the top layer - this means numbing cream is ideal for getting a tattoo or applying before laser tattoo removal - but for a piercing it would be more of a placebo than anything else.

For tattoos, this depends on the size of the piece, as the cream's effects will eventually wear off. We typically recommend not using numbing cream for tattoos or laser, but please discuss this with us beforehand.

- Can I bring a friend with me for moral support?

Yes, of course you can! We have additional seating in our treatment rooms for a friend, parent, or partner; just don’t bring a busload of people with you!
